Radiographic Inspection

Radiographic inspection involves the use of X-rays or gamma rays to examine parts and products for imperfections. TPT utilizes radioactive isotopes to direct radiation through a part or product onto radiographic film. The film is usually developed in our dark room or in one of our many mobile laboratory units and can then be used to identify imperfections in the test medium.

Radiographic inspections are often used to evaluate the integrity of carbon steel and stainless steel fabrications such as pipeline welds, all weldments, castings, forgings, storage tanks and pressure vessel welds. They can also be used to evaluate concrete walls and floors. Radiographic samples can be sent directly to our laboratory or a mobilized unit can be dispatched to your location to provide on-site analysis for the immediate generation of test results.

TPT conforms to the standards produces by the American Society of Nondestructive Testing for conducting radiographic inspections and also conforms to all applicable state and federal regulations. NDT Level II or NDT Level III certified technicians perform all radiographic inspections.
